Arta Dannikson is a character in the serial An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom. She is a 16-year-old maidservant at Tremont Keep originally from the small town of Templestone, where she was friends with Spennis. Her aunt found her the position at the Keep, and she sends most of her wages home to help support her family.

Arta is a very pretty girl with long, brown corkscrew curls that are forever threatening to escape confinement. She has wide, hazel eyes and a turned-up freckled nose. She loves to dance. There is something innocent and knowing about Arta all at the same time.

Her husband is Fen Wallek, who followed her to the Keep. They have known each other since childhood and have been a couple for nearly two years when our story begins. Arta's jealousy over Fen's infatuation with Ellika led her into Temmin's arms very briefly, and while Temmin behaved himself in the end, he's always regretted it and thinks of her in a less than respectful manner from time to time.

Arta and Fen were married on the 6th day of Summer's Beginning, 990 KY by Father Nino. Princess Ellika helped arrange the wedding ceremony and paid for Arta's wedding dress, a Naister. As a married couple, they are living now in Spring Cottage on the grounds of the Keep, which makes the rest of the Keep staff believe that Arta is Temmin's mistress.
