Bessa Vissek

Bessa Vissek is a character in An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom. She is the second Supplicant to the Lovers' Temple under the Embodiments of The Lovers, Allis and Issak Obby, alongside Temmin and Anda Barrows. She is the first Supplicant taken on by Allis and Issak.

She has strawberry blond hair, blue eyes and pale, translucent skin. She is very slim and lithe, and is described as "small-breasted, narrow-hipped as a boy, flat-muscled, but unmistakably female".

When she is not at the Temple, Bessa manages the house for her father, and has done so since her mother's death. The Vissek family goes all the way back to the times of Temmin the Great, but while Bessa's father still holds the ancient title Lord Parshott, the family is finding itself fallen on hard times. Bessa's older sister has been married off to the merchant Hendrik Haddil-Vissek, who was more interested in a connection with the Vissek family name than anything else. Since her family doesn't have enough money left for her dowry, her Supplicancy to the Lover's Temple is essentially her only way to raise her "market value" enough to eventually secure a marriage to a man of sufficient social standing.

Bessa is in love with her maid Silsha, and her marriage contract specifies that Silsha comes with her and remains Bessa's servant and no one else's. Bessa also has a nascent relationship with Barik Lover, in which they engage in age play.
