Betta Harbitti

Betta Harbitti is a minor character in An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom.

Her husband was Benno Harbitti, with whom she had two daughters. When he died, he left his wife enough money so she could live by herself instead of having to beg her in-laws for help. Since the death of her husband she rarely saw her daughters because their husbands feared that she might ask them to move in (when a married man dies, the welfare of his widow is in the hands of his family, not hers), and her former friends shunned her as well. Her loneliness led her to the Lovers' Temple for help. She was the first petitioner of Glaes Beloved.
