Connin

Connin, the Traveler Prince, is a character from An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom.

Connin is rusty haired like his forebears, and rather handsome. Born in 1 KY, he is long-lived much like The Teacher or his mother, Maeb the Traveler Queen, and like them he is capable of some Magic. To outward appearances, Connin is about 25.

Connin is the secret lover of Sedra, although Sedra essentially stopped their relationship when Brinnid started courting her in earnest. Connin has also had sex with Edmerka, whose virgin blood was used by his mother to cure him of his crossed eyes, and Edmerka's youngest daughter Finnia. Though Connin loves to tell many stories of his own cunning, and the dozens of princesses he’s bedded, there have only ever been three Tremontine princesses he has bedded in his more than 900 years, as his mother likes to point out whenever she is within earshot. Since Edmerka was from Leutefloss, that leaves one royal princess as yet unaccounted for.

Connin is also the mystery sponsor of Twenna and Elbig Shelstone. While he intends to have Twenna in the Keep as his agent, and eventually for the Shelstones to follow Sedra and Brinnid to Sairland, it is as yet unclear what his exact intentions are. The speculation ranges from getting Sedra back, or simply getting back at Sedra for spurning him, to sabotaging the plans of Maeb and Teacher to end their longevity, which he, unlike the other two, has not yet grown tired of by any means.
