Dantono

Dantono is a minor character in An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom, appearing in book three, The Last Royal Mistress.

He was, together with Ardenil, one of the generals of Warin V's army at the battle of Guenor which ended the Guenor Rebellion. The King's forces had been heavily outnumbered, and since Warin had lost control of Corland, Teacher could not destroy the defensive works of the rebel forces by magic. Faced with certain defeat, Ardenil and Dantono refused to lead their men into battle. When the King threatened to have them executed as traitors, Dantono fell on his sword and was beheaded by his friend Ardenil in a last act of mercy, loyalty and friendship.
