Devotee

Devotee is a religious title in An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom. It refers to a member of the laity that formally adopts a particular Temple as his or her spiritual home. This would be as opposed to people who may lean toward one god or another, but don't make any particular commitment to the god's Temple.

Devotees often receive some religious training in order to help perform certain duties for their Temple. Lay clergy are even more committed, with more rigorous training and greater Temple duties but still stop short of taking full vows. As an example, devotees of the Lovers receive a day of training a week for one year, and then serve one week of a year in the Lovers' Temple's petitioner rooms.

Supplicancy can be thought of as an extremely intense and prestigious form of devotional service.
