Ennia's Descent is a Tremontine myth that addresses the absence of women's magic in the world, beyond that which is known to be used by the Traveler Queen.

A common version of the tale is included in the publication "Tremontine Legends and Tales of the Gods in the Times Before the Temples" by Reinierik Grandalon, the full version of which (with Grandalon's annotations) can be read at Ennia's Descent.

Part of the story includes Ennia seeking audience with Harla in order to rescue her lover and teacher, Mavierna. Using gifts from Eddin, she tricks her way past six Gatekeepers in the Bloody One's temple at Corharla Hill, giving each a gift. The gifts are, in order: her shoes, her hairpin, her necklace, her ring, her earrings and her clothes. Finally, she gives her name to Harla Herself. This sequence is ritually re-enacted by the priests and priestesses of Harla in modern times, such as when Princess Sedra presents herself to become a devotee of Harla.
