Far Isles

The Far Isles are part of the Kingdom of Sairland and the Far Isles. The name of the Far Isles in the local language is "Amma's Footprints". The track of the islands is a bit like a set of vanishing footprints, so the story goes that the Far Isles are where Amma first set foot on the earth.

The area was hotly contested between Tremont and Sairland, until the Treaty of Ilhovin ended the conflict by giving the Far Isles to Sairland, while Belleth became part of the Greater Kingdom of Tremont and Leutefloss, thereby cementing the de-facto ownership of the two provinces at the time.

The most famous cheese made for export in the Far Isles is a hard, brown, oddly sweet goat cheese primarily used for melting on toast. It's often used in the Sairish navy to mask the staleness and weevil infestations of hard tack. Besides that, the Far Isles also produce several goat's and sheep's milk cheeses, but the fresh ones rarely make it out of the towns in which they're made.
