Gian
From MeiLinWiki
Gill is a character in An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom, appearing in book one, Lovers and Beloveds. He was the son of the Duke of Valmouth (at the time of the story, still Valleysmouth) and the cousin, page and lover of Hildin the Usurper. He has golden hair, intense, green eyes, and a gentle face.
He idolized Hildin to whom he was completely obedient. He killed Meg on Hildin's bidding to preserve the secret of Edmerka's prolonged stay at Tremont Keep, during which he took as much advantage of her enchantment as Hildin did. Unlike Hildin, Gian fell in love with the captive princess.
Gian was killed when he took an arrow intended by Hildin to assassinate Edmerka when Warin the Wise returned to Tremont Keep to reclaim his throne.
