Harsin III
From MeiLinWiki
Harsin III is a character in An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom. He was the son of Ilhovin the Peacemaker and Macca of Sairland, born in the winter of 632 KY after his father's death. He ascended to the throne at age 16 in 648 KY; his mother was his regent until that time. His full name was Harsin Creithig Ilhovin Temmin Mihall of Tremont, and he went by Creith (pron. Crayth) in the family. He had the sandy brown hair of his father and the grey eyes of his mother.
Harsin married Katha of Corland, but it was not a love match. In fact Harsin despised her and preferred spending time with his mistress, Milla, instead. He eventually named Milla to the official position of Royal Mistress and married her off to an impotent old man so he could create them Lord and Lady Breitborough.
Events in the Reign of Harsin III
Many events attributed to Harsin were actually carried out by his mother during her regency. Upon ascending to the throne, he ordered all mention of his mother's regency stricken from the records and replaced with a made-up Council of Regents.
- The first permanent standing Tremontine army (infantry and cavalry) was founded in 638.
- A defensive pact was enacted with Corland that amounted to its annexation. Harsin's marriage to Katha was part of this pact.
- The Peacemaker College was endowed at Summerford University.
- Newland was discovered.
