Tellis Dunley (née Ambler) is a character in An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom. She is a former maidservant at Whithorse Estate, and the mother of Mattisanis Dunley, the result of a brief affair with King Harsin around the time Temmin was born. She is quite a beauty even into middle age.

When Queen Ansella discovers Mattie is Harsin's daughter, she pays Tellis to take Mattie far away for fear Temmin may take her as his mistress, not knowing they're siblings. Tellis changes their family name to Ambleson, and flees to the Corrish city of Arren, much to Mattie's confusion.

Tellis was two spokes pregnant (just finishing her first trimester) when she married Darwas Dunley, Mattie's stepfather, now deceased; though Dunley always knew Mattie was not his, he loved her as his own. She has no other children.

Tellis is a minor character in An Intimate History of the Greater Kingdom.

She is a former maidservant at Whithorse and the mother of Mattie. Harsin IV, who fathered that child on her, described her as quite a beauty, "with the most beautiful hazel eyes and sweet rosy cheeks".

When Harsin learned of Mattie's existence, he gave Tellis and her husband a small holding and made further provisions for all their children, including Mattie.
